Brayden's First Birthday Party Part 4

We were very surprised by all of the guests that showed up for Brayden's birthday party. It looked like everyone had a good time.

Grandmommy, Gigi to Brayden, came:

In case you're wondering, the party was not at my house. I wish I could take credit for this beautiful house, but I can't. My best friend, Hailey, and her husband, Chuck, offered (ok, I asked) to have the party at their house. They both put so much work into getting their house ready and getting everything ready for the party. I don't know what I would have done without them. I am very blessed to call them friends.

Oh, and I didn't take any pictures of the party favors, but they were a sand bucket with each child's name on it with bubbles and a ball in it.

I am so very thankful and fortunate to have so many people who care about my family and spent their Saturday morning at Brayden's first birthday party. I just hope I haven't set a precedent for birthday parties because it was a lot of work! :) However, I wouldn't have it any other way because this sweet boy deserves the best!

Brayden's First Birthday Party Part 3

Brayden got lots and lots of great gifts! He got a really good variety of fun toys and cute clothes. He got a cozy coupe from Aunt Brooke that he loves! He also got a swing from Chuck and Hailey and a pool from his Grammy that will be put to good use this summer. His favorite toy, though, was a Toy Story motorized car that my parents got him. It's pretty cool because he can push a button and make it go, but it also has a long handle on the back of it that an adult can push and steer it with.

First, he started by opening his wrapped gifts.

Then, my dad put one of the other kids at the party on Brayden's car and he spotted it and had no interest in the rest of his gifts.

Brayden's First Birthday Party Part 2

As far as decorations we tried to keep the B theme going. Of course we had balloons.

We had a bouncing station . . .

A Bubbles Station . . .

and a Ball station . . .

The bubbles station had a bubble generator that shot out bubbles nonstop, 3 bubble wands, and 3 bubble sticks that made a shape out of bubbles.

The balls station had a ball pit and a pool full of big balls, medium size balls, a beach ball, and punch balls.

Behind the food table, we had a bucket for each month of Brayden's life. We used a picture taken around or on his monthly birthday and chose a B word that describes either him and/or the picture. Mom was in charge of these and I helped her and we spent ALOT of time on them so I'm going to post them all. :)

Brayden's First Birthday Party Part 1

Brayden's first birthday party was Saturday and it was an absolute blast! The weather could not have been more perfect and almost everyone we invited showed up! There are so many good pictures that I'm going to split it up into 4 parts. This part will feature the food and Brayden's first experience with his very own cake.

Let me preface by saying that his birthday party theme was the letter B. All of the activities at the party started with B along with all of the food. We had a berry medley, bananas, brownies, butter cookies, "bears" aka teddy grahams, and "beans" aka jelly beans. We had bottled water, berry Capri Sun, and berry Kool Aid Squeeze Its.

Cindy Milner made the cake and his smash cake and did an excellent job!

As we all know, Brayden loves sweets so I knew he would love his cake. First, he stuck his finger in it over and over.

Then, he just started hitting it.

He didn't really eat much of it like I thought he would. It was more about destroying it and he succeeded.

Finally A Boat Ride!

Papa finally took us on a boat ride this afternoon. As expected, Brayden loved it. First he sat in Tyler's lap. We tried to keep him in front of the little windshield thing so the wind wasn't blowing in his face too bad.

My dad's face in this picture cracks me up! I promise Brayden is the only person (so far) that makes him this happy.

You can't see him too well in this picture because he's behind the windshield, but I just love his expression and how happy he is.

Then, he went over to Papa's lap to help drive the boat and that made him even happier. He made his boat noise the entire time he was driving! He was also mesmerized by the water shooting out the side of the boat.

I see a lot of boat riding in our future this summer!
