Hutton Family Beach Trip 2013 Part 2

I'm mostly going to let the pictures do the talking. I'll throw in some comments too. :)

Hutton Family Beach Trip 2013 Part 1

We had a great beach trip with Tyler's brother and his family. I loved getting to spend time with my niece & nephew and Brayden was so happy that he got to spend so much time with his cousins. Anytime we went anywhere and got out of our respective cars, they acted like it was the first time they'd seen each other in weeks.

Wednesday
Tyler, Brayden, and I left Wednesday around lunch and got down there around 4:30 or 5. It started raining the closer we got to Destin, and even though it had stopped by the time we got there, it was still pretty cloudy. Of course, that didn't stop Brayden from wanting to go swimming. We attempted to take him to the pool but the code had been changed and we didn't know the new one. So unfortunately he didn't get to go swimming that evening.

That evening we grabbed some pizza and stopped at Yogurt Mountain for some ice cream. We also ran by Walmart and picked up a few groceries.

Thursday
Aaron, Jessica, and the kids were coming down Thursday afternoon so Brayden impatiently waited on them all day. We spent the morning at the beach and pool.
Then we went back to the condo for lunch and a nap. Nap times for me looked like this every day - I was in heaven!
After nap, we went back to the pool. Brayden is more of a pool boy than a beach boy. Once he plays at the beach for an hour or so in the morning, he's pretty much done. While we were in the pool, we figured the other Huttons would be there any time. Brayden was so excited he went running up to one little girl when she walked in the pool gate saying "Emma! Emma!". I had to break his heart and tell him that wasn't her. :) We went in to get a shower and get ready and they finally got there! You've never heard so much squealing, screaming, and excitement in your life. Coincidentally, Brayden and Asher matched when we went out for dinner that night!
My attempt at a group shot:
Obviously standing in front of the window wasn't the best idea since Brayden is dark.

We headed out for dinner at McGuire's Irish Pub. Seriously, if you've never eaten there, you're missing out. It was so delicious! We stuffed ourselves silly there, but you can't not have ice cream for dessert at the beach, so we walked around Target for a little bit to get unstuffed. Brayden and Emma were holding hands when we first got there and it was so sweet!

I know I've mentioned this before, but Brayden loves Emma. When my mom asked him who he went to the beach with, he just said Emma. No one else is even on his radar. I don't know if it's because they are so close in age and he's never known life without her or what. I think he still thinks of Asher as the baby and he doesn't realize he's old enough to play with them. I love the fact that they're such great friends. The morning we left, Brayden was in our room watching a show. Emma was out in the living room saying "Where's my Brayden?  I need to see my Brayden."

Anyway, after dinner, Target, ice cream, and a night walk on the beach, we crawled into bed and crashed!

Friday
Friday consisted of pretty much the same. Brayden & Emma tried to play with the Leappad, but Asher wanted it too and we discovered sharing is not something they do well so we put it up.
Friday night, we had dinner at the Crab Trap. As beautiful as the view was, we were not pleased with our food and won't ever go back there.
After dinner, we walked around the Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin. We love that place! I really wish we would have eaten dinner there instead. I just love the atmosphere, the lights in the trees, and the cute shops.
This would be such a cute picture if we didn't have flash eyes!

Saturday
The entire time, we thought TS Karen would be there by Saturday, so we weren't planning on having any beach time. We were wrong - it was so beautiful Saturday too! We spent the day outside again and I even snuck in a nap with my sweet boy. :)

Sunday
Sunday was the day we went home. :( We use Tyler's big brother's condo so there's no cleaning service. We consider that a small price to pay to go to the beach with no rent expense. We got up that morning and cleaned the condo. We had to wait for our laundry to get done so we went and walked around Bass Pro Shops and ate lunch at Pompano Joe's while we waited. Pompano Joe's was so good! While we were eating, the remnants of Karen descended upon Destin and by the time we got back to the condo, Tyler looked like he had jumped in a swimming pool (he went and got the car for us). We finished the last of the housekeeping and headed home.

Sunday was also our 6 year anniversary. I could not imagine a better way to spend it. I was reminded yet again this weekend of how much I love this man I married. He makes me laugh so hard - that's what attracted me to him almost 12 years ago and he still keeps me laughing. I loved getting to spend so much time with him and I'm so glad I married my best friend! I can't wait to see what the next 6 years have in store for us.

So, what exactly will be in Part 2? All of the pictures in this post are Iphone pictures. Believe it or not, I did take some pictures with my real camera. I will post Part 2 with those pictures soon!

Mid-Week Randoms

I'm linking up with Megan again for Mid-Week Randoms.

1. I found this on Pinterest the other night about introverts. It describes me perfectly. I consider this blog a Catch 22 - I can express myself without having to worry about people looking at me and being the center of attention, but it's also very hard for me to put myself out there like this. Anyway, I am 110% introverted!
2. My sister loves to go to yard sales & she finds really good stuff. She got an entire box full of Fall clothes for Bray for only $15! I mean, check out all of the clothes:
My sister really does make my life so much easier and I hardly ever give her credit for it. She pretty much always takes my child to get his hair cut when he needs it. She keeps him stocked up on clothes that fit him; like seriously, I don't think I've bought him more than 5 pieces of clothing in his life. She keeps him any time I need her to after she's spent 10 hours a day with him 5 days a week. She's a lifesaver for this working mom!

3. You know that estate sale I mentioned in this post? Well, I racked up on some gently used household items. I got some new sheets for my bed and a couple of lamps for my living room. Previously I had a standing lamp that had lost its lamp shade many moons ago. It's amazing how much more homey my living room looks with these new lamps! It's like a new room and I love being in there!

4. I just found out I'm taking a beach trip with these 2 cuties!
We're not going until October, but I am so excited! Brayden is beyond excited. I know it will be such a fun time!

5. Tomorrow is the Casting Crowns concert & Brayden's open house for his new year of school!

Happy Hump Day Friends!

Bentley Grace

Brooke and her family recently went to the beach. When I borrowed her memory card to get those pictures from Brayden's party, I found some pictures of Bentley on the beach and laughed so hard. That girl has so many faces.
The I'll Cooperate For Now Face

She is full of personality and has no problem letting you know how she feels about anything.
The I'm Not Happy About This Face
Followed by:

The Now I'm MAD Face

If she loves you, she LOVES you - this would apply to her Mom & Nana. If she doesn't LOVE you then she could take you or leave you so I get this face a lot:
The You Get On My Nerves Face

So then I start to annoy her because for some reason I think that'll make her like me and then I get this:
The You Better Leave Me Alone Face

I've finally accepted the fact that she's never going to get too excited to see me or choose me to be the one who gets to hold her. Of course, I still love her more than words can say.
The Normal Face

I love this sweet girl so much and I'm so glad we live close to each other so I can watch her grow up. Who knows, maybe one day when she gets older she'll like me! :)

Beach Trip 2013

We just got back from a family beach trip to the Fort Morgan/Gulf Shores area and we had such an absolutely great time! My parents, my sister and brother in law & Bent, and Brayden and I went. My brother couldn't go because he just started a new job and couldn't take off and Tyler chose not to go because he HATES the beach, with a passion! I know, what's wrong with him?!

The Fort Morgan area is a great place to stay because it mostly consists of houses so the beach is not crowded at all. Seriously, this was either side of our canopy while we were there:

No people!!

We stayed in the cutest house and it even had its own private pool, which we LOVED!
We drove down last Saturday. We stopped for lunch at Arby's in Bay Minette and stopped at Walmart in Gulf Shores to get groceries so we didn't get to the house until about 5 or so. Since it was my birthday, we grilled cheeseburgers (my favorite!) for dinner and had ice cream for dessert.

We spent most of our days at the beach. We tried to alternate our evenings with going out to eat and eating in at our house. Sunday we spent the day on the beach and in the pool and went to eat at a place called Behind the Pines for dinner. Brooke got sick at her stomach right before we got our food. They went straight home after dinner and she was out of commission the entire next day with serious stomach pains. Luckily she started feeling better by Tuesday morning.

Monday, we spent more time at the beach and pool and had spaghetti for dinner that night.

By Tuesday, I was needing a break from the beach. I had gotten quite a bit of sun Sunday and Monday and I just wanted a day where I didn't have to put on my swimsuit and lather up with sunscreen. We decided to take the ferry to Dauphin Island. We figured Brayden would love it and we were right. It was a lot of fun!
We ate at a place called Lighthouse Bakery in Dauphin Island and it was absolutely delicious! Their sandwiches were so good! We felt a little like we were in Mayberry on Dauphin Island. We took a shuttle from the ferry dock to the bakery and the bus driver told us to give him a call when we were ready to be picked up. When we called the number, it was the police station! We really loved Dauphin Island. That night, we went to one of our favorites for dinner - Sea & Suds!
After dinner we took Brayden and Bentley to The Track to ride some rides. Unfortunately Bentley was only tall enough to ride the carousel.
Brayden enjoyed riding the train and also got to ride the Go Karts with Brooke.
We also went to get Dippin Dots after that. That was a FULL day!

Wednesday we hung out at the beach and pool again. That night, Brooke and Danson went on a date while we took Bentley to dinner with us. We went to eat at Lulu's. Brayden and Bentley had a great time playing in the sand while we waited.
Thursday the water was seriously crazy. The waves were crashing like crazy because of Tropical Storm Andrea so we didn't get in the water at all. However, during the night the tide had been HIGH so a little lagoon had formed. We set up our canopy right in front of it and Bentley and Brayden loved playing in it. It was perfect for them.

I also took a lot of pictures of everyone else that day too.

Thursday was also the day Danson and Dad went home. Danson had to work Friday and Saturday so they had to go back early. That night we cooked at home and just enjoyed some down time.

Friday we enjoyed our last day on the beach. A couple of nights while we were getting ready to go out to dinner, Brooke just threw Bentley in the sink to bathe her. She's still so little, she fit just perfect!

That night, we went to Cosmos for dinner.
After dinner, we took the kids to The Wharf to ride the ferris wheel.

Saturday we packed up to head home. We stopped at Lambert's on our way out because we knew Brayden would love the whole "throwed rolls" concept. We're not really sure what all the hype is about with that place, but it was packed at 10:30 in the morning! Brayden made sure to raise his hand for a roll.

We seriously had the best time. There was no drama, everyone got along great, and no one got stressed. I love my family and loved spending a full week at the beach with them. We missed Tyler and Jordan like crazy. Now I'm wondering how I'll make it another year before I get to go back!
