Weekend Review X 2!

Well, I'm a little behind on my blogging! The past two weekends have been beautiful so we've been trying to enjoy every minute of them. Last weekend, we took Brayden to the cowboy parade here in town. It started right around his naptime so he wasn't as into it as I thought he'd be, but we still enjoyed it. Aunt Brooke rode on a horse in the parade so he enjoyed getting to see her on her horse. After the parade, we went to eat the Depot Diner and Grill in Helena. If you've never been there, you should go, because they have great food and it's right by the waterfall in Helena so you can sit outside and enjoy it. We enjoyed getting to take some pictures of Brayden by the waterfall. Here are a few I liked:

Those of you who know me and especially my dad really
well know why he's sticking his tongue out -
it's genetic! :)

Brayden and Aunt Brooke

Brayden and Nana
This is what Brayden does when you try to take a picture of him and he would rather play with the camera.
This is my favorite picture of the day. We were getting him to clap and I'm not sure why he was clapping with his hands above his head, but the picture turned out so cute.

Please notice his cute outfit that he wore to the cowboy parade compliments of Aunt Brooke. :)

This weekend was a bit out of the ordinary. Saturday morning, Brayden woke up crying so I knew he was hungry and got up and gave him his bottle. After his bottle, though, he kept crying and I could tell something was wrong because that is very unlike him. Tyler was still at work, but due to get off any time, so I called my mom. She said to give him some Motrin and that we may need to take him to the doctor. We figured he had another ear infection. I gave him some Motrin and he was totally back to normal within 10 minutes. So, we decided to see how he did the rest of the morning before calling the doctor. Brooke was having a yard sale with Danson's mom and sisters so we went to visit them that morning. We snagged Brayden a cute lion halloween outfit for either this year or next. Then, we went to my cousin Racheal's baby shower. Brayden fell asleep right after it started and when he woke up about 30 minutes later, he was burning up! I gave him some more Motrin and we left the shower. We got home and took his temperature and it was 102.2 degrees. I called the doctor's answering service and the nurse called me back and told me to take him to Children's South. So, off we went to the doctor. We got there and of course he was feeling fine because we had given him some Motrin. The doctor looked in his ears and said one ear was bulging with pus and the other was full of liquid and had a little pus. So, she gave us a prescription for antibiotic and hopefully he will be better soon! This is the only picture I have of this weekend and it was taken with my phone. You'll notice he's very happy and that's because he LOVES playing with the paper at the doctor.
Also, just a little sidenote, I was very impressed with Children's South - his appointment was at 4 and we were done by 4:50! Plus, they were all so friendly and nice and were very sweet to him! He's been pretty happy since then as long as we keep him fed and give him Motrin every so often. He's a sweet little guy!

Snow Day and More

So, this blog is very late and it's also going to be a hodge podge of different stuff! :) On Thursday, February 10th we woke up to a beautiful snowy yard. Daycare and work started at the normal time so we only had a few minutes to take some pictures in it and of it. I wish I had been able to get more.

We didn't have alot of time so he had to take a picture in his carseat :)

So, as I mentioned before, Brayden has started to develop just a small touch of separation anxiety. The only times I've noticed it are when I drop him off at daycare and he gets a little upset, but gets over it very quickly, and at home when we walk in another room. I'm lucky to get a shower without him getting upset, but the rest of the time I'm getting ready, he sits right beside me. His favorite thing to do is pull stuff out of bags, baskets, and so on. Here he is pulling stuff out of my makeup bag while I get ready. Don't worry, I was watching him very closely!
He is doing very well at daycare still. He is eating really good now, which is a major milestone. He eats breakfast and lunch there as well as a couple of snacks and comes home and usually eats a meat or vegetable or both along with yogurt because he loves it.

My job is still going really well! I still really love it and am so glad God gave me this wonderful opportunity. I work with a lot of great people and know I am going to love my job so much!

That's it for now! :)

9 Months Old!

Brayden is 9 months old today! I honestly never knew I could possibly love someone as much as I love him. Before you have kids, people tell you how special the love a mother has for her child is, but you can never imagine until you have kids. It breaks my heart that I don't get to spend more time with him, but every day when I get off work, I get so excited when I get to go pick him up. Although I really hate that I can't be a stay at home mom, I think our time away from each other during the day makes our time together in the evenings that much more sweet. I cannot imagine loving this sweet baby boy more than I already do, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that it will continue to grow stronger every day.

He also had his 9 month checkup today. I didn't get to go because of my new job so his daddy took him by himself. It went very well. I was a little nervous because men don't retain alot of information from doctor's visits so I knew I would just get the higlights of the visit. The doctor said Brayden is very healthy. He did get to see his temper (I know it will not be cute later, but now when he gets mad, it's hilarious!) He clenches his fists together, grunts, and his face gets completely red. Unfortunately, I do have to take credit for that gene, but I get it honestly! Here are the stats:
Weight: 20 pounds 8 ounces
Height: 30 inches
Head: 17 1/2
He is still in the 90th percentile on height so it looks like he's going to be pretty tall.

* He is still wearing a size 4 diaper, but we just had to buy our first box of diapers and we bought a size 3. Judging on his weight gain over the last few months, he'll probably be in this size for a while.
* He still wears size 12 month clothing.
* He is sleeping so good now that he goes to daycare - he falls asleep around 7:30 and gets up a little before 7 in the morning. It's amazing how much I can get done now!
* He's eating a little better. He loves yogurt and they feed him breakfast and lunch at daycare and I think he eats that ok. He's still eating 6 ounce bottles of formula about every 3 hours.
* He is still not crawling! The doctor said some babies just skip crawling altogether so it looks like that may be the case. However, he's proven that he's stubborn since before he entered the world a week late so it wouldn't surprise me if he's just being stubborn and insisting on being carried everywhere because he knows how to get on his knees. :)
* He gets cuter and more fun every day. I love watching him play with his toys because he just talks and keeps himself entertained for the longest time. He still loves his doorway jumper the most.
* He has started crying the past 2 days when I drop him off at daycare. It breaks my heart, but I know it's something I'll have to learn to deal with. He is definitely more aware of strangers and he loves his mommy! I think it makes his daddy a little jealous. :)

Overall, he's a very happy baby who is so loved, cherished, and adored. I love him so much!

Weekend/First Day

Today was my first day at my new job and I loved it! It feels so good to be back in governmental accounting - I had forgotten how much I loved it. I know I will miss some of my friends at RDS, but I will still see them all the time. I am so excited about this job and know it was definitely the right move for me.

This weekend was pretty good. Of course, there are no pictures! Friday, I didn't work because my last day at RDS was Wednesday so I had a free day. I still took Brayden to daycare because I wanted him to stay in his new routine for the entire week, but I picked him up about 2:30. Tyler had to go to Montgomery Friday for a test for a job he had applied for so Brayden and I drove down and met Aaron, Jessica, Emma, and Tyler for dinner at Longhorns and a little light shopping. Saturday, Tyler and I had a date day planned so we got up and made burgers for lunch and Mom came over to eat and take Brayden. Then, Tyler and I went shopping at the mall and ate dinner at La Fiesta. Sunday was Tyler's birthday, but we counted our outing Saturday as his birthday outing so we didn't do much Sunday. Brayden had a pretty bad runny nose so I kept him home from church so he wouldn't pass that along to any other babies. Then, we just went to the store and got the ingredients to make a few snacks for the Super Bowl. We made buffalo chicken dip and pigs in a blanket made with cocktail sausages and sister schubert rolls and they were both delicious. We didn't really watch the Super Bowl, but you know we're always looking for a reason to make some good food! :) Overall, it was another fantastic weekend!

Happy Birthday Tyler/Daddy!

Today is Tyler's 26th birthday. I told him this morning that 26 sounds like such an adult age. :) Tyler and I have been together since we were 16. Who knew back then that we would spend the rest of our lives together?! I could not be more happy with this man. Sure, he tests my limits every now and then, but I love him more than anything. My love for him has definitely deepened since we've had Brayden. He is the best daddy to him and I am so glad that Brayden will grow up with a father who is a good role model and expresses his love to him on a daily basis. Happy Birthday Daddy, we love you!!

First Week of Daycare = Success!

Brayden's first week of daycare was great! Other than his naptime issues, they say he is doing great and is a really good baby, although he did finally show his temper toward the end of the week. :/ I already love it because he is on a routine. He goes to bed about 7:30 every night and wakes up a little before 7 each morning. He eats around the same time every day and even eats breakfast and lunch at daycare. I really love the two ladies that keep him. They seem to genuinely love kids and are very patient with them. I can already tell a huge improvement in our quality of life as far as mine and Tyler's relationship goes because he is actually getting to sleep again. Hopefully he will be napping like a champ soon and start crawling and/or walking in the near future!
